After a while in the making, Pickerings Piano Tuning and Service are delighted to introduce to you our sister company, Pickerings Piano House, home of our new piano showroom!

We now stock a range of upright pianos including Yamaha and Kawai models.

Have lunch, browse our piano selection and gifts and then finish with a lovely walk by the canal with views out to Beeston Castle. What a wonderfully busy, crazy few weeks it has been! Concerts to recordings, an absolute pleasure working at some amazing venues with some amazing people and learning new skills from the best. Before and after! Today’s job, replacing bass strings on a Yamaha U1 from the 70’s for a private customer! Quite often the bass strings go dull/dead on models from this decade. Another reason we go for mid 80’s upwards at Pickerings Piano House. Another reason we head to Japan in person to check every piano. Bass strings will cost hundreds of pounds to replace! Lots of dealers mask the dull bass strings by twisting the strings to avoid the cost of replacing but this is a short term fix!
